1. Introduction

Welcome to Subiri, an Islamic companion app developed by Subiri Solutions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our application.

By using Subiri, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

2. Information We Collect

Subiri collects only the minimum information necessary to provide its features:

Location data — Your device's geographic coordinates, used exclusively to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction. Location data is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
Local preferences — Your chosen language, theme, Ramadan mode setting, reading progress, Hifz memorization tracker, and prayer/Suhoor/Iftar alert preferences are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device.
Quran content — Surah translations are fetched from the public API api.alquran.cloud and cached locally on your device for offline use. No personal data is sent to this API.
Prayer times — Your coordinates are sent to the public API api.aladhan.com solely to retrieve prayer schedules. No identifying information is attached to these requests.
Advertising data — Subiri displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob's SDK may independently collect your advertising ID, general device information, and approximate location (derived from network signals, not from the location data described above) to serve and measure ads. This data is handled by Google according to its own privacy policy.

3. Permissions Used

Subiri requests the following Android permissions:

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION Used to determine your geographic position for calculating accurate prayer times and Qibla direction. Location is never stored on external servers.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS Used to send daily Hadith and Quran reading reminder notifications. You can disable these at any time in your device's notification settings.

INTERNET Required to fetch Quran translations and prayer times from public APIs, and to download Surah content for offline use.

WAKE_LOCK Used by the background work scheduler (WorkManager) to ensure daily notifications are delivered reliably, even when the device is in a low-power state.

VIBRATE Used to provide haptic feedback during the Tasbih (dhikr counter) feature. No data is collected through this permission.

SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM Used to schedule precise prayer time, Suhoor, and Iftar reminder alerts that you configure within the app. All alert times and preferences are stored locally on your device. No data is transmitted externally.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED Used to automatically reschedule your previously configured prayer, Suhoor, and Iftar alerts after your device restarts or the app is updated, so reminders continue working without requiring you to reopen the app.

4. Data Storage & Retention

All user preferences and reading progress are stored exclusively on your local device. Subiri does not operate its own servers, databases, or cloud storage.

Cached Quran content stored locally on your device can be cleared at any time by clearing the app's data in your Android settings.

5. Third-Party Services

Subiri uses the following third-party services:

AlQuran Cloud API (api.alquran.cloud) — For Quran translations. No personal data is shared.
Aladhan API (api.aladhan.com) — For prayer times based on coordinates. Only geographic coordinates are sent; no personally identifiable information is included.
Google AdMob (admob.google.com) — Used to display advertisements within the app. Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect data such as your advertising ID, device information, and general location for ad personalization and measurement, in accordance with Google's Partner Sites policy. Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are presented with a consent form before personalized ads are shown, in compliance with GDPR requirements.

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them independently. Subiri Solutions is not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.

6. Children's Privacy

Subiri is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require account registration or any personal data entry.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent any user data. The data transmissions that occur are the anonymous API requests described in Section 5, and the advertising data automatically collected by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads within the app, as described in Section 2.

8. Security

Since Subiri does not collect or store personal data on external servers, the risk of a data breach affecting your personal information is minimal. All data stored on your device is protected by Android's built-in security mechanisms.

9. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

You can revoke location permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Subiri → Permissions.
You can disable notifications at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Subiri → Notifications.
You can clear all locally stored data by going to Android Settings → Apps → Subiri → Storage → Clear Data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
